How to Unroot Lenovo ThinkPad

Have you tried our How to root Lenovo ThinkPad method yet? If you have, you may have spent great quality time with your tablet and all it had to offer after this kind of procedure.

However, maybe some of you don’t share that opinion and actually want their gadget unrooted. Which is more than possible to perform. Simply watch out this space for the steps needed to do it.

For now, though, these steps have some little waiting to do. Because you need to, at first, install Android Debug Bridge on the PC used for this operation and then look and see if the ThinkPad is rooted via the guide we wrote a couple of posts back on

After carefully doing all of the stuff from the previous paragraph, you are ready to find out how to unroot the Lenovo ThinkPad.lenovo-thinkpad-tablet

Important instructions

  1. First step has a lot to do with the following: activate the USB Debugging mode on the smartphone, which you can do very easily. Just go to the gadget’s Menu > Settings > Apps. After that you must choose Development and finally activate the USB Debugging. Next: perform a connection between the tablet and the PC and access the Command line (for that you must go to Start, then cmd.). The window should be launched in the directory where the ADB file is located.
  2. Step 2: write adb shell using the Command line mentioned a bit earlier, then wait until the Shell mode is activated.
  3. For the third step you need to, while in that mode, type “su“. Once you do this, you should see a message.
  4. Step 4: give the appropriate level access to Superuser and then enter these lines via the Command line. At the end of these command, you should use the Enter button:
    mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/system /system
    rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
    rm /system/xbin/su
    rm /system/bin/su
  5. Step number 5 needs you to restart the device once you are done with the insertion of the commands above. This will mark the end of the unrooting of your Lenovo ThinkPad. Which has been our intention all along.
