Restore Android 4.0.4 ICS UEBLH3 on the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113

Restoring a device to the official stock firmware it came with when we bought it is not a difficult task to do. And you will see why.

Should you own Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113 and wish to go back to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich official firmware, we are offering you the possibility to do so. In a very easy fashion that is going to offer back stock firmware build UEBLH3 of Android’s 4.0.4 operating system. If you have the same tablet as the one here, but from a different part of the world, this guide will work on your model, too.

Requirements

Keep in mind, though, this: the gadget that accepts the steps we are about to write here is the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113. Any tablet that is not this will not restored to the Ice Cream Sandwich UEBLH3 firmware. It will only be your fault if you apply these steps to a different device and they don’t work or your tablet gets damaged.

But before continuing, you need to have certain things installed on your product along with vertain devices without which the installation won’t happen. So, besides the actual Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5113, you must have a laptop or a computer that works with the Windows OS, this laptop/PC needs to feature USB drivers (they can be grabbed after you install Samsung Kies). The next requirement is to have the USB debugging enabled. Then turn every single security feature off, along with Samsung Kies. Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-2-10.1-P5113

After making sure they’re not working anymore, download the official and Odin 1.85 to your laptop. Charge the battery of the tablet to 70% or over. The final thing you must do before following the steps for the installation is this one: create a backup of stuff like passwords for the Wi-Fi, SMS and so on. You’ll need them when the process is over.

Important instructions

Finally, here are the steps we mentioned. Pay attention to all of them.

  1. Extract the file to your laptop/personal computer. It is located in the firmware archive.
  2. The second step you need to perform: extract what is in the Odin archive to an internal directory on your laptop.
  3. For step 3 you must switch the tablet off. It should not be connected to your computer.
  4. In step 4 you need to start booting into Odin Mode (Download mode); that is done via pushing and holding down the keys for Volume Up & Power, as usual. That will bring a warning screen. In order to go into the download mode you have to press the button for Volume Down.
  5. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Step 5: start the Odin3 v1.85.exe installation.
  6. Then for step 6 you have to click, while in Odin, the key labeled PDA. Afterwards you need to locate the file. Once you find it, select it.
  7. Now comes step 7: connect the gadget to the laptop you use for this installation process. If this message appears – Added – then you’re doing the right thing.
  8. For step 8 click the button named Start key in Odin. Via this action the firmware is going to go into flashing mode. That will end with a message saying PASS. Once the company’s logo appears, you can unplug the device.
  9. If, during step 9, you notice that the display doesn’t do anything anymore while rebooting is happening, switch the device off and then enter into Recovery Mode by simultaneously pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Power buttons.
  10. The touchscreen should come to life. When it does that, release the key for Power; only that one, the one for Volume Up needs to be kept pressed. The tablet will boot into recovery as a result.
  11. Then you have to choose Factory reset/Wipe data. Then Yes at the next step. In order to reboot the tablet, opt for restart the entire system.

And this is the end of the restoring process.
