Sony Xperia leaks ZR, a 4.6-inch Water-Resistant device with Quad-Core CPU

Sony has been having its fair share of leaks till now. The most recent of them: ZR, a new smartphone which is rumored to offer a 4.6-inch display and a quad-core processor. The leak is also mentioning the device’s water resistant quality.

The design of this seemingly new phone will supposedly offer, according to XperiaBlog, the same exterior as the company’s Xperia ZL model. Its weight is said to be 140 g, while its thickness will probably be 10 mm. The body could also be smaller compared to the ZL. The glass back case which comes with the latter will seemingly not be sported by the ZR; rumor has it that it will be curved. But, since there are no photos to discuss, you should take everything mentioned here with a grain of salt.xperia-logo

According to the same leak that happened not too long ago, the rumored Sony Xperia ZR will offer the following in terms of other specs: a resolution summing 1,280 x 720 pixels, a 2,300 mAh battery, a 13MP Exmor RS cam, a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm S4 Snapdragon Pro, one microSD card for up to 64 GB storage space besides the 8 GB default one and 2 GB of RAM.

If these specifications are to be believed, the new Sony Xperia Model may go directly to the mid-range category of smartphones. However, the same leak was talking about the model being able to resist water: its water resistance capability is supposedly IP58. The manufacturer’s Xperia Z has a lower rating. And, apart from behaving well when it comes to water, this handset is also said to resist dust equally well.

Since the Galaxy S4 is the talk of the town these days, many are waiting to see if the leaked Sony Xperia RX will garner an equal amount of interest once the company announces it officially.
