Sony’s NSZ-G8 Google TV is awarded WiFi Certification

It looks like the predecessor to Sony’s NSZ-G7, dubbed Google TV, has just received WiFi Certification.

The new product, created by Sony in collaboration to American company Google, will arrive soon to all interested consumers worldwide. androidos.in, an online publication, is the source for the news.

According to them, the new Google TV joins its older sibling thanks to a WiFi Certificate that was recently published on Wi-Fi Alliance official Internet page.

The Japanese manufacturer’s NSZ-G7 saw the light of day last year. The Google TV NSZ-G8 is the model to succeed it and this new model is to be unveiled this year. Sony have not yet announced an official date for its availability. While waiting for the device, it should be said that the NSZ-G7 was awarded various features recently; some of them are HBO Go and Voice Search.Sony-NSZ-G7

Apart from not knowing when to expect the NSZ-G8, no one has found out what specs it will ship with. The only thing that is known is the recently awarded WiFi Certification.

The launch date of the new model remains a mystery, as well. The place that could provide more info about the TV should be the upcoming Google I/O event, where the American company is prepared to present their brand new Key Lime Pie operating system (also known as Android 5.0). So it’s only fair to assume that Sony is going to launch their Google TV there, because they don’t have anything else that’s new to unveil to the public.

The future TV to come out of the hands of Sony and with the support of Google presents a lot of interest. Even if there are other Google branded TVs out there already which haven’t been so appealing to consumers so far. The upcoming device will have to compete with others manufactured by Hisense (which is a manufacturer based in China who will come on the market with Pulse, a device that also presents plenty of interest), LG, Sony and Asus.
