How to Update Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7272 to Android 4.2.2 XXUANA1

Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7272 can feature Android 4.2.2 as soon as you want it to. It’s all in the update procedure you’ll read about today.

The firmware used in our update is XXUANA1. It came out for the first time earlier this month for the following two countries: Russia and Ukraine (Kyivstar). This new official firmware comes packed with the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and its great features. They’re as follows: a much better Bluetooth audio streaming and a new Gallery app.

You will have a new set of sounds for wireless charging and a USB debug white-list. When that’s not enough, you also get low battery bug fixes and the possibility of long-pressing the WiFi Bluetooth icons in Quick Settings in order to be able to toggle the on/off state. A new set of download notifications is also available, as are many customization options.

The novelties

An already rooted Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7272 is going to suffer from the update. Here is how: its root access will be revoked and the system partition will be erased. But these cons will be forgotten once you find out that your device’s internal and external SD cards will not be affected. The important data on your handset will also be saved from damage.

Since the new firmware has an activated KIES logo, you can very easily upgrade your phone with Samsung’s KIES. That is, if there’s stock ROM running on the handset.

If you’re done with the pre-requisites and you’ve made sure you use the Galaxy Ace 3, go ahead and update the latter with the steps below.Galaxy-Ace-3-GT-S7272

Prerequisites

We strongly recommend using the Samsung S7272 for the guide. A phone model that isn’t this one will be bricked if you use our tutorial. Besides having the correct model on you, you also need to go through some requirements. Here they are:

Step by step instructions

  1. The first of them tells you to do this: download, on your notebook, the Jelly Bean Android 4.2.2 XXUANA1 for your country (, and ). Odin v3.09 is the next package you must download on the same device. After they’re both saved there, you should unzip them and then open Odin v3.09.exe on your laptop.
  2. After that, boot the smartphone in Download Mode like shown here: simultaneously press and hold the keys Home, Power and Volume Down, then press Volume Up as soon as a boot screen comes up.
  3. If the previous tasks have been completed, establish a connection between the handset and your laptop. The help for this comes under the guise of the phone’s USB cord.
  4. Be sure to wait for the appearance of a blue sign in Odin to show you if the devices were successfully plugged to one another. Once you spot it, you can go on with the remainder of the guide.
  5. Continue with the following action: add the firmware file to AP / PDA . When done, activate two boxes: F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot. Re-partition may be activated from the factory; if it is, you must uncheck it.
  6. After that, click on “Start” to enable the flashing of the new firmware on your Galaxy Ace 3 GT-S7272. This is going to end as soon as a message containing “Pass” in a green-colored background appears on the display.
  7. You should now wait until the handset restarts, meaning the following: the phone can be unplugged from your notebook. This will leave you with something very easy and pleasant: the exploration of the new firmware.
  8. [sc name=”banner-jos”]For that, you should launch the XXUANA1 by tapping Settings on the device, then tapping About Phone. Launch it after you see it and give it a spin.

Should it not be useful, the previous ROM can be made available once more. The NANDroid backup file you had to create previously can be used for this part. In the meanwhile, the update process will be revoked.
