How to flash SlimBean Build 8 on Google Nexus

  1. First one on our list: plug the handset to your comp, then move the Gapps and the SlimBean Build 8 custom ROM from the notebook to the phone’s SD card root.
  2. Unplug your devices when the copy and paste movement is done, then power the phone off and move on with another step telling you to enter the device into Recovery Mode. This action needs the following steps:
    – press and hold, together, Volume Down, Volume Up and Power;
    – when the display begins to flash, let go of them.
  3. When your device is in that Recovery Mode, you have to wipe its system by selecting these options:
    Factory Reset/Wipe Data (confirm it afterwards and then go to the Recovery menu);
    Wipe Cache Partition;
    Wipe Dalvik Cache.
  4. You are not yet done with the options that you have to choose for our tutorial. Here are the next two that you should opt for: “ Install zip from SD card” and “Choose zip from SD card“). Wait for them to do their job, then find the Slim-toro-4.2.2.build.8-OFFICIAL zip file.
  5. Once it is located, you need to choose it with “Power“, then confirm. This zip file is going to be flashed on the Galaxy Nexus SCH-I515.
  6. To also install the Google Apps on the same handset, you need to repeat what you had to do for the installation of the first package. Return to the phone’s Recovery Menu once the installation of the two is over.
  7. Reboot your device with “Restart System Now” and then wait for this action to start and end. When it’s over, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean SlimBean Build 8 will be sported by your smartphone.

NOTE: The Galaxy Nexus i515 is prone to several problems. One of them may consist in an error; so, if you see a “Status 7 error” on the phone’s touchscreen, you should face this issue by completing the tutorial below:

  • then you should choose “Backup & Restore”;
  • opt for the ROM you like from a list;
  • wait for it to be flashed on the Galaxy Nexus SCH-I515.
