This instrument may not be official, but it does come with many valuable features, like a native Android user interface, base AOKP build Android 4.2.2, system tweaks, no bloatware, themes x theme chooser, multi-DPI support and so on.

Requirements should now be mentioned: have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S I9000 (the phone should also feature a custom recovery image on it), create a backup via this guide, use a factory unlocked handset, charge its battery and install USB Drivers made for this model on your laptop.samsung-Galaxy-S-I9000

And now you are ready to go, aka install Tsunami X on your smartphone to gain access to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Important instructions

  1. For step one of our tutorial you should absolutely download along with GApps on your laptop, available here. When both files are on your comp, you need to plug the Galaxy S GT-I9000 to your laptop, then copy and paste the Android 4.2.2 ROM archive file and the GApps archive to the memory card that’s inside the smartphone.
  2. Now here’s what you have to do for step number two: switch the handset off. Unplug it from your computer afterwards; then turn the phone on while pressing + holding Home,Volume Up and Power. These couple of actions shall help your smartphone enter Recovery Mode. Now opt for Factory Reset/Wipe Data so that you can perform a complete data wipe of the device.
  3. When done with this, the third step will need you to choose Wipe Cache Partition to do a cache wipe, then perform a wipe of the Dalvik cache. To do this, we recommend you to go to Advanced from the Recovery Menu; when you’re there, opt for Wipe Dalvik Cache. Now return to the main recovery screen.
  4. Step four will ask you to opt for Install zip from SD card. As soon as you’re done, opt for Choose zip from SD card and then go to the Android 4.2.2 ROM archive.
  5. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Step number five will require you to use Power to choose it, then confirm the installation. All you need to do for step six is this: wait for the flashing of that file to happen, then do the same (from “go to the Android” till “then confirm the installation”, but choose the Gapps archive instead of the Android one) to install the Google Apps.
  6. The two files should now be installed on your Galaxy S GT-I9000. Go to +++++Go Back+++++ as soon as that happens.
  7. From the recovery menu you need to choose Reboot System Now for our seventh, and last, step. Only a couple of minutes will be needed for the smartphone to reboot. And that was all for our guide on how to install Tsunami X on your phone. Your I9000 will now feature Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean along with all that this OS can offer.
