Update Galaxy S Plus I9001 with Liquid Smooth Jelly Bean 4.2.2 Firmware

Galaxy S Plus I9001 is a dream come true for many users who want a good acquisition in the form of a smartphone. If you are one of them and already own this particular model, today we shall tell you how to upgrade it to this OS: Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. With this particular firmware: Liquid Smooth custom ROM.

In case the firmware attracts you, as does this tutorial, here are a couple of the tool’s features: navigation bar widgets, speed enhancements, status bar mods, a quick settings panel that can be customized and so on. If these new features are reason enough for you to consider an update, we will walk you through the things you need to do to get through the process smoothly.

Requirements

Requirements are a huge part of that smooth transition to an upgraded Galaxy S Plus I9001. So here they are:

How to flash Liquid Smooth firmware on your device

  1. After the last of the pre-requisites is taken care of, you must start our tutorial. With this first task: plug the Galaxy S Plus GT-I9001 to your notebook after you are done with the download of the above two packages.
  2. Then send the two from there to a new location, namely the phone’s SD card root. At the end of this transfer, you should unplug the handset from your laptop.
  3. Boot your phone in Recovery Mode by performing these actions: press + hold, simultaneously, Volume Up and Home while at the same time powering the phone on. The Recovery Mode can be booted into by using an alternative method if the previous one does not work: use an app called ROM Manager.
  4. When your smartphone is in the Recovery Mode, you have to wipe the smartphone’s data by choosing these options: “Factory Reset/Wipe Data“, “Wipe Cache Partition” and “Wipe Dalvik Cache“.
  5. Move on by staying in the Recovery Mode and from there opting for this: Install zip from SD card. After that go to the two zip files from the requirements and select each of them to have them installed on your Galaxy S Plus I9001.
  6. After both of them are inside your handset, you need to choose +++Go Back+++. Then restart the device by opting for the “Restart” button. After the phone reboots, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Liquid Smooth custom ROM will be inside your handset to play with. The exact address of this firmware: the handset’s “About phone“.

After you see the tool there, you can look for all sorts of firmware that will improve the performance of your phone. And you can begin the testing of those new features we mentioned not too long ago.

NOTICE: Should your smartphone experience boot loops, all you need to do is this: power the Galaxy S Plus I9001 off, repeat the tutorial and the problem should go away. And you will be able to return to your upgraded device and all the new stuff it will deliver.
