Update Galaxy S2 Plus NFC GT-I9105P to Android 4.2.2 XXUBMI3 Official Firmware

Installing Android 4.2.2 XXUBMI3 on Galaxy S2 Plus NFC GT-I9105P will be a piece of cake. We have a guide that will help you install the new firmware on your smartphone and then you will be able to see all that this OS has to offer.

The new Jelly Bean firmware has seen two versions already: one in November for Portugal (TPH carrier), Germany (O2 carrier), Bulgaria, Macedonia and Serbia (for Telekom) and one released this month for the Netherlands (T-Mobile), Open Austria, Slovenia (Si.mobil), Bulgaria (VVT) and Italy. The official new firmware comes after the launch date of the handset, which was in February 2013.

When you want to upgrade your Galaxy S2 Plus I9105P to the Android 4.2.2 XXUBMI3 official firmware, you will have to prepare for this: if the phone is rooted, the new firmware will delete its system partition and revoke the root access.

The data of major importance that your device runs will not be erased and the internal / external SD cards will not be affected.

You should use today’s tutorial on a phone which has a custom ROM pre-installed. Also, don’t perform the update on another phone because if you do that, the following will happen: the device will end up bricked.

Since the KIES logo of the firmware is activated, you will get to update the smartphone with Samsung’s KIES software, too. If you don’t want to do that via this tool or our guide, you should try with OTA by making use of the Software Update button under Settings menu.

Requirements

Some quick info about what’s included in the new firmware: such as bug fixes, new download notifications, USB debug white-list, new Gallery app which delivers faster speeds when loading, long-pressing the WiFi and Bluetooth icons in Quick Settings will toggle the on/off state, new sounds for wireless charging and low battery, and fixed Bluetooth audio streaming bugs.

The pre-requisites below are what you should do now:

  • enable USB Debugging on the handset;
  • flash USB drivers fit for the Galaxy S2 Plus from here on your laptop;
  • keep the USB cord of your phone close to you so that you can use it later;
  • charge the phone’s battery;
  • be sure to create 2 kinds of backups, which must be a standard one and a NANDroid one, too, via these instructions;
  • turn off, on both your notebook and your NFC phone, every single one of the security programs flashed on them;
  • follow our tutorial only if the notebook or comp is running Windows.Galaxy-S2-Plus-I9105P
