Update Galaxy S3 I9300 to XXEMC3 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 Official Firmware

Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300 is not going to miss the chance to taste the Android 4.1.2 if you follow our tutorial. XXEMC3, the latest official stock firmware to be used for today, is meant for Nordic countries.

However, if your phone is unlocked, you can use it anyway. A new gallery app, Page Buddy, Smart Rotation and others are the features that you should get to experience once the update is on your Galaxy S3 I9300.

Requirements

Pre-requisites for a successful upgrade: charge the battery of this device, turn on USB debugging on it, install USB Drivers for the S3 GT-I9300 on your laptop, download and Odin tool v3.07 on the same laptop, create backups of everything that’s valuable on your phone and use the model that is already unlocked.

The root access that you have before this procedure will no longer be on the phone after you grab the update; root your device once more to enjoy it again.Galaxy-S3-GT-i9300

Important instructions

  1. This guide debuts with step number one: after the files from the requirements are downloaded on your comp, you need to extract them. Now turn the S3 I9300 off to enter it smoothly into Download Mode like this: press and simultaneously hold Home and Volume Down; when done, press Power and the logo showing Android + a triangle are going to appear. Now’s the time to press Power once more and the phone will, at last, enter Download Mode.
  2. Step number two: return to your laptop in order to launch Odin tool, then plug the GT-I9300 to it and wait for an ID:COM icon to become yellow and a number (the COM port) to come on the screen.
  3. For the third step you need to have a look at some of the files below; they should be installed on the smartphone, but if neither of them shows up, no problem. Here you go:
    – click on PDA and a file that contains CODE in the name should pop; choose it;
    – click on Phone; that way you will be able to see a file with MODEM in its name and opt for it;
    – tap on CSC and choose a file that has CSC in the name;
    – if you tap on PIT, a file called .pit is going to appear; select it if it does.
  4. [sc name=”banner-jos”]For the fourth step, your task is the following: check the options that say F. Reset Time and Auto Reboot, then check Repartition should you have selected the .pit file from the earlier step. Now be sure to click on Start after the actions from this step have been performed.
  5. The flashing of the update is bound to happen soon, so have a little patience, then when it ends you need to see if the handset restarts.
  6. When it does, the sixth step is going to ask you to wait for the phone’s home screen to come in your line of sight, then disconnect the devices from one another.
  7. The Galaxy S 3 I9300 is set to experience the Android 4.1.2, all thanks to the help of the XXEMC3 custom firmware.
