Windows 8 OS confirmed for Razer Project Fiona gaming tablet

Windows 8 operating system has finally been confirmed to feature on the Razer Project Fiona gaming tablet.

Gamers of the world, unite. There’s good news coming your way: the Razer Project Fiona, a gaming tablet, is going to run the Windows 8 OS. The one to announce this was Min-Liang Tan, Creative Director and CEO at Razer. He took to Facebook to tell people all about this.

The Razer Project Fiona gaming tablet was first unleashed in 2011. So it took one year for the manufacturer to run such an operating system. Well, better late than never.

The only spec that we heard of after the good news was reported was the processor: a Core i7. Which means that the gadget’s creator did not change the other specifications in the initial list. With the exception of the operating system, which is now the Windows 8 version (confirmed by Tan himself). That being said, the Project Fiona made by Razer also keeps its consumer target: gamers. Without the PC part. The fact that it now features such a CPU means that the device is going to deliver more power. People who have had access to the tablet told us that it could play blockbuster games while graphical settings were fine throughout the testing phase.razer-project-fiona

The company behind this product has many plans for the future. Among them is the integration of many more features than the existing ones. Also, the form factor will go through changes. Other than that, many more modifications are going to be made at the level of price and specs, too.

Speaking of design, many gamers feel that the Project Fiona tablet should also incorporate a mouse and a keyboard for the following players: MMO, RTS and FPS. Because right now only gamepad controls are used. They’re not so well-received by the users of this gaming gadget.

Another such professional tablet used for gaming purposes is one called Wikipad and it has a thickness of 8.6mm. It will be released this month and its price is around $500. Some will say that its price tag is high, since it offers only a resolution of 1,280 x 800 and a memory of 16GB. But then again, it sports a 10″ touchscreen, a Tegra 3 processor and an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Among its features are the following: 1 docking station, 1 microSD card slot, one D-pad, dual analog sticks, triggers and many more.

I cannot understand why they are not choosing the Android. I believe they have some financial advantages from the Microsoft. The Win 8 for PC is really boring. I hope on the tablet, the system will work smooth.
