Flash the XperiaS2 custom ROM for Galaxy S2 GT-I9100

The name of the member is tazlooney89. He created a custom ROM which makes it possible to flash the XperiaS2 on a Galaxy S2. This custom ROM goes by the name of CyanogenMod 9.1. The developer based it on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.

But we should take things in order to begin the flash process. Meaning that first you need to know that the CyanogenMod 9.1 should be installed on the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100. If you install it on another smartphone, it will be your fault if things go badly. Then you have to be aware of the fact that the steps in today’s guide should be performed the exact order they appear in. Anything less and you get into trouble with your phone.

Requirements

To install this custom ROM on your device, you also have to pass some requirements. Check to see if the smartphone is pre-installed with the XXLPQ firmware of the Ice Cream Sandwich. If it is, then you can download these packages: pack, and the archive.Samsung-Galaxy-S2-GT-I9100

If neither of the ClockworkMod Recovery and Android 4.0 OS is installed. The last requirement has to do with protecting all the crucial content that is in your phone. And the best option for that: a backup.

Important instructions

Mow you are ready to start the installation process of the Siyah Kernel through ClockworkMod Recovery.

  1. And to do that, first download the Siyah Kernel file to the phone’s internal SD card.
  2. Then switch the phone off.
  3. Third step is to enter into Recovery mode; that is achieved after you press and keep pressed the Volume Up / Home and Power button at the same time.

  5. After that, you need to opt for Choose the necessary ZIP file from the internal SD card. Which is followed by the selection of the Siyah Kernel.

GApps pack&XperiaS2 installation process

After you finished installing the Siyah Kernel, you have to also install the XperiaS2 and Google Apps package.

  1. First step: download the XperiaS2 ROM archive and the Google Apps .zip to the SD card of the device.
  2. Then switch the phone off. Booting it into Recovery mode by simultaneously pressing and keeping pressed the Volume Up / Home and Power button at the same time..
  3. Then you will be required to perform a NANDroid backup. The following action that needs to be taken: select Backup & Restore the files. Then opt for Backup again, to finish the process.
  4. The select of Factory reset/Cleanup the data is what comes after that. Which you will need to confirm in the next step.
  5. Then select Wipe cache partition. This, too, has to receive confirmation on the next step.
  6. Next, opt for Advanced; then for Wipe Dalvik data cache. This action will have to be confirmed in the nest step, too.
  7. Opt for Storage & Mounts next; then select the data formatting option.
  8. Select Storage & Mounts again; this should be followed afterwards by the selection of Format/System.
  9. That, in its turn, is followed by the selection of Storage & Mounts and also Format/Cache.
  10. Opting for installation of the ZIP file from the SD card is the next step. When you must perform the installation of the ZIP file from the SD card and after that opt for the XperiaS2 ROM archive.
  11. After you are done with that step, choose Install ZIP from SD card again. You must be careful because this time around you will have to opt for the Google Application pack.
  12. Once you do that, choose Go back. Opt then for Factory reset/Wipe data.
  13. Choose Wipe cache partition and then Advanced.
  14. Next step: select Fix all access permissions.
  15. The final step: you must restart the entire system.
