Install VJMA2 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Official Firmware on Galaxy Y Duos S6102B

There is official firmware used to bring an updated Android Gingerbread on your Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102B. And this tool will be used in our guide. So let’s see how to update your smartphone to the aforementioned OS with VJMA2.

Requirements

Among the requirements that should be considered for our tutorial we have instructions such as:

  • use a laptop that sports Windows (if it runs Mac or Linux, you should flash CrossOver Utility);
  • the battery of the handset has to be fully charged;
  • you need to create a backup using our instructions (an dedicated memory card has to be used so that you can backup the data on the device’s internal memory);
  • be sure to flash USB drivers for this model on your notebook;
  • use the fully unlocked S6102B;
  • turn on USB debugging.Galaxy-Y-Duos-S6102B

Important instructions

  1. The first action that should be taken for today’s guide: download the and Odin tool v3.07 on your laptop. After you extract them, you need to find these files: .tar.md5 and Odin3 v3.07.exe; of course, there are other files, too, but these are the most important ones.
  2. Switch the handset off next and, after it’s powered off, you have to enter it in Download Mode; this is something which is done like this: press and hold, simultaneously, Volume Up, Home and Power.
  3. Now that you’ve booted the device into that mode, you will be asked to run the Odin v3.07.exe as Admin by right-clicking on odin.exe and on “Run as administrator” from the context menu.
  4. Plug, after you’re done, your Galaxy Y Duos S6102B to the notebook; it will have worked if you are presented with “Added!!” and a COM port number with yellow as its color. In case you fail to see a successful connection between the devices, you need to either install the USB Drivers again or use a different USB port.
  5. Now be sure to choose the files below:
    – click on PDA and you should select a file with CODE in its name;
    – after you click on PDA, you need to opt for a file containing MODEM in its name;
    – as soon as you click on CSC, you should choose a file with CSC in its name;
    – click on PIT and go for the file that says .pit.
  6. While you are still in Odin, you should opt for these three boxes: F. Reset Time, Auto Reboot and Repartition; the last one will have to be chosen only if you opted for the .pit file not too long ago.
  7. [sc name=”banner-jos”]The flashing of the update firmware will begin the second you tap on Start. And it will be a successful flashing only if your smartphone reboots and you spot PASS on its display.
  8. Now you should disconnect the Y Duos S6102B from your comp. The VJMA2 firmware is in the “About phone” if you wish to see it with your own eyes to believe it.

This tutorial may or may not be faced with problems. If it is and you have a GT-S6102B that is blocked in booting stage, you will need to get it out of that state by doing the following: go to the Recovery Mode and, when there, perform Factory reset/Wipe data together with Wipe cache partition, then opt for the phone’s restarting.
