Instructions

  1. The first one to make an appearance does so by asking you as follows: download Android 4.2.2 AOKP ROM followed straight after by GApps package, available here; they need to be downloaded on your comp. You don’t have to extract their content, just be sure to plug the phone to the laptop afterwards.
  2. The next step, the second, is here to tell you that you have to copy and paste the files from the computer to your handset’s SD card root; here is another action that needs to be performed: download, from Google Market, an app called ROM Manager and launch it.
  3. Step three will tell you to restart the phone into its Recovery Mode by tapping Reboot into Recovery. While you’re at it, you should also wipe data.
  4. Step four will barge in to request the following: find Flash zip from SD card; choose this option by pressing Power and then opt for Choose zip from SD card with the aid of the same button as before.
  5. For step number five you are required to continue with these actions: after you press Power to choose the Android 4.2.2 ROM zip file, confirm that you wish to see it installed, then repeat what you just did so that the GApps zip file is also installed.
  6. Step six recommends you to go to +++++Go Back.
  7. Step seven says this: opt for the system restarting; the Droid Bionic XT875 will shortly begin to reboot. And with that, the Android 4.2.2 AOKP Build 4 Jelly Bean custom firmware will feature on your smartphone; hint: go to Settings, tap About phone and the update of the XT875 is sure to appear in front of your eyes.
