Upgrade LG Optimus L7 P700 to Android 4.1.2 CM10 Nightly Build Jelly Bean ROM

Requirements

But how about some requirements before moving on to the most important part in our tutorial?

To prepare the field, your device will have to be rooted and flashed with a custom recovery image, its USB Debugging option should be turned on, the laptop you use should be installed with USB Drivers that meet the requirements for this particular phone, the latter’s battery needs to be fully charged, backups must be created and a factory unlocked L7 P700 should be used.LG-Optimus-L7-P700

Important instructions

  1. For step number one you must check to it that the following two files are downloaded on your laptop: Gapps archive from here and . Then perform a connection between your PC and your handset.
  2. Step number two in our guide will tell you to move the archives from your PC to the memory card root that’s available on your Optimus L7 P700 and then shut down the device.
  3. For step three you must unplug the device from the laptop and then enter it into Recovery Mode. Once here, you must perform a complete phone’s data wipe.
  4. Step four will ask you, once you’re end with the Data wipe process, to choose the option labelled Flash zip from SD card by pressing the key labelled Power on your device. You should afterwards select the following option with the same key: Choose zip from SD card.
  5. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Then move to the step five and find the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean ROM archive. Now opt for this file using the Power button; confirm and follow the same instructions once again choosing the Gapps archive on the L7 P700.
  6. After you find the Go Back option, you must opt for the restarting of your device. When the phone comes to life you can be sure that you have now installed the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 CM10 Nightly Build firmware on it. To make sure that you did everything as shown in this tutorial, just find the “About phone” setting in your device and verify if the update is there. If it isn’t, repeat this guide again until the update is installed on your Optimus L7.
