Update SONY Xperia V LT25i to Official Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (9.1.A.0.490 Firmware)

Sony Xperia V LT25i will soon go through a new procedure with the help of our tutorial on this page.

The guide will introduce you to the requirements and techniques to use so that the device gets updated to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. 9.1.A.0.490 is the name of the firmware which was created to perform the upgrade on this particular phone.

Requirements

Watch, now, as we tell you what pre-requisites to follow: gather every single data that’s important for you once you’re done with the tutorial and create a backup out of it (be careful to avoid using ROM Manager or PC Companion for this), install official drivers for the phone on your laptop, turn on USB debugging on the smartphone, turn off a mode called MTP (for this, go to the phone’s Settings, click on Xperia, choose Connectivity and tap on USB Connection Mode; now opt for the MSC Mode instead) and charge the battery of the handset to its fullest value should it be empty (or close to being empty).

If your mind is set and you really want to get the update on your Xperia V, then you should know this: the firmware we are using for this guide is not going to void the device’s warranty; neither will it root it. Also: to gain the lost warranty of your phone, you can use the new stock firmware without any problem.Xperia-V-LT25i

But for now, we will let you find out what steps to follow to update Xperia V to the Jelly Bean.

Important instructions

  1. Step one: download, on your laptop, two files; then install them. Their names are and firmware archive. Now send the .tft file in a directory called Xperia V JellyBean Update.
  2. For the second step you need to go to C:\Flashtool path and open the Flashtool.
  3. Step three: tap on a symbol you’ll see named Thunder (to find it fast: it’s on the top left part belonging to the Flash tool).
  4. When you see it, step 4 tells you to opt for Flashmode, click on “OK”, then wait for a window which will need you to choose the type of firmware for your phone; when it appears, click on “…”. This will opt for the .ftf for you.
  5. [sc name=”banner-jos”]Choose the path, wait for the firmware file to be selected, then switch the handset off. Once a couple of seconds pass, you should press Volume Down and simultaneously plug the phone to the laptop. When this is finished, you should have patience for 5 minutes tops until the end of the update.
  6. Once the update is on the phone, the latter shall reboot and feature the Android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 OS.

The new firmware should now be in the smartphone’s “Build number” section which can be reached by going to Settings and then choosing “About phone“. Everything should now be in order. But if an issue arises, such as the device getting stuck in an infinite boot loop problem, the solution is very close at hand. You simply have to switch the Xperia V off and just repeat the tutorial from step one.

I think the best option is a factory reset procedure. You must search on Google because I don’t know exactly how to do it.
